Independence
Podiatrist Tested is owned and operated by Foot & Ankle Web Services LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by the American Podiatric Medical Association or any other professional body.
Paid placement and editorial decisions
No brand can pay for a score, a ranking, a seal, or a placement. We do not accept payment to remove or soften a review.
Affiliate relationships
We earn commissions from qualifying purchases through Amazon Associates and brand-direct affiliate programs. Commission rates differ between retailers. Our editorial policy is to assess published evidence and fit considerations rather than rank products by commission rate. Affiliate links should be disclosed.
We do not accept sponsored testing
Our policy prohibits brand payments for test results, scores, rankings, a seal or placement. Affiliate commissions from qualifying purchases are disclosed separately and should not determine editorial recommendations. The current funding policy is set out on our independence page.
Product acquisition
Current specification analyses have no documented original shoe-test photographs, bench measurements or wear-test records. They must not imply that a pair was acquired or physically tested. If a pair is acquired for future testing, its source, sample details and actual test records must be disclosed. A provided pair does not buy a favorable result or editorial approval.
Testing tiers
Current reviews are specification analyses. Original physical testing is not documented for them. The other labels below describe the evidence future work would require, not tests already performed.
- Wear Tested — future evidence required — an identified pair with original photographs and contemporaneous tester, date, distance, surface and observation records. The label must not be used without that evidence.
- Bench Tested — future evidence required — an identified physical sample with original photographs, measurement methods and recorded results. An Orthotic Volume Rating would require its own recorded fit assessment; it cannot be inferred from published dimensions.
- Specification analysis — current reviews — attributed published information from a manufacturer, named retailer, independent laboratory or research source. No documented original physical test, original test score or earned seal.
Corrections
Errors are corrected on the page with a dated correction note. We do not silently edit substantive claims.
Review currency
An update date records a content change, not a physical retest or clinical signoff. Any verification or review date must identify what was checked and by whom. Model versions and source changes should be disclosed, and a retest should be claimed only when it was actually performed and recorded.
Medical content
This publication provides general footwear information and does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Footwear guidance is not a substitute for diagnosis. A named author is not proof of a separate clinician review; any such review must identify the clinician, date and scope supported by a record.
