This is the previous generation. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 25 has replaced the GTS 24 and has been the current model for roughly a year. Brooks built the GTS 25’s forefoot up by 3 mm and its heel by 1 mm to reach a 10 mm offset. Both generations are listed in APMA’s seal database, so a discounted GTS 24 remains a sound stability trainer.
Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24: Specification Analysis (Not Yet Tested)
We have not had this shoe under our own caliper. The figure worth knowing before you buy is the drop: Brooks states 12 mm and an independent lab measured 13.5 mm, which puts the Adrenaline among the highest-drop mainstream trainers still on sale. For the foot this shoe is aimed at, that is a feature.

What a foot and ankle surgeon reads into these numbers
The Adrenaline is the shoe most often handed to someone told they overpronate. What Brooks actually builds is a firmer midsole (44.1 Asker C, the firmest in this batch), a reinforced heel counter, and GuideRails — raised foam walls either side of the heel that limit how far the rearfoot can roll rather than propping the arch up from underneath.
That distinction matters. A medial post pushes up under the arch and can be uncomfortable over a rigid or already-supported foot. A guidance system that works at the heel tends to be better tolerated alongside a custom orthotic, because the two are not fighting for the same space. It is one reason this family is a common recommendation for posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and adult-acquired flatfoot.
The 13.5 mm drop is doing quiet work too: the higher the heel sits relative to the forefoot, the less the Achilles and plantar fascia are asked to lengthen at push-off.
Orthotic fit
Brooks states the insole is removable, and a heel-based guidance system generally coexists better with a custom device than an aggressive medial post does. What decides the question is internal volume and heel-counter depth once the stock insole is out — which is exactly what our Orthotic Volume Rating measures and exactly what a specification cannot tell you. This shoe has no OVR yet. If you wear a custom device and you are choosing today, buy from somewhere with a returns policy and try the device in the shoe.
Who should be cautious with the Adrenaline GTS 24
- Anyone with a rigid high-arched (cavus) foot. This shoe is built to resist inward roll. A foot that already rolls outward does not need that resistance and will often find it harsh. Based on the published design, not on wear.
- Anyone with forefoot pain. A 25.5 mm measured forefoot under a 13.5 mm drop puts comparatively more load on the ball of the foot. Based on the published geometry, not on wear.
- Anyone wanting a soft, cushioned ride. At 44.1 Asker C this is the firmest shoe in this batch. Firmness is the mechanism here, but it is not what everyone wants underfoot.

Everyday running and walking for a foot that rolls inward. Four widths and a removable insole make it one of the more orthotic-tolerant stability shoes on sale.
Is the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 good for walking?
The specification suits walking well: a high heel, a cushioned but not unstable platform, GuideRails to limit rearfoot movement, and fittings up to X-Wide. It is a running shoe, so the outsole is built for forward motion rather than lateral work. What we cannot tell you yet is how the midsole holds up over the mileage a daily walker puts in — that is a wear-test question, and this pair has not been through one.

The Adrenaline is the stability shoe most often named in clinic after the Ghost, and usually for a defensible reason: GuideRails guide the rearfoot and knee instead of forcing the arch off a hard post, and it comes in four widths with an insole that lifts out. The number worth knowing is the drop — measured at 13.5 mm, this is a high heel. For Achilles tendinopathy or a tight calf that is frequently the point; for someone being moved deliberately toward a lower drop it is the wrong shoe, and the published 12 mm understates by how much. Podiatrist Tested has not tested this pair, so there is no score and no seal here. Whether the GuideRails still hold under a heavy, collapsing foot is a bench question.
